The best flooring for an HDB kitchen
The kitchen is the hardest test for any floor in an HDB home — spills, dropped pans and constant foot traffic, day in and day out. Here's what actually holds up, and why.
What actually matters in a kitchen floor?
Three things, really — and a kitchen floor has to get all of them right:
- Waterproof through the core, not just sealed on top — a surface seal eventually fails at the seams, and a kitchen finds every seam.
- A tough wear layer that shrugs off stains, scratches and daily traffic — Hana's is a 0.5 mm commercial-grade layer over a 5 mm rigid core.
- Warm and quiet underfoot, so the room doesn't feel cold and hard the way bare tile does.
Is tile the right choice for a kitchen?
